Hi....

  • Am I crazy for wanting another baby?

I have a 14 year old daughter and have always wanted another baby.

My husband and I have been married for just over 2 years and have been kind of trying to conceive, but have had no luck.

We are both 36 years old. Recently, the feeling of wanting another baby has diminished a bit, and that kind of saddens me. I still want another baby, but would it be crazy to start over at my age? My daughter will be leaving for college in just a couple of years.

Has anyone else out there started over when their child(ren) were nearly grown?

  • Should I buy a new or used TV?

I am going to be buying a new TV for my bedroom this weekend. Nothing fancy, just something to watch The Walking Dead on, lol..

Is it always best to buy brand new TV's, or would buying one from a pawn shop okay?

    Which would you do?

    Thanks!

  • What constitutes a separation?

We'll use my state, Georgia, for this hypothetical scenario. Georgia does not require a legal separation before a divorce.

Okay, so, say a married couple has started sleeping in separate bedrooms of the house. The wife has told the husband that she no longer wants to be married, but due to financial reasons, they continue to live under the same roof. They no longer have relations together, except sharing a bank account to pay the bills.

Would this couple be considered separated? And what if one of them maybe won the lottery during this separation? Would that become a marital asset, or not?

  • Husbands: When you married your wife, did she become your possession?

What I mean is, you decided to marry your wife. Was it because you wanted to be with her forever? Was it because you loved her and couldn't see yourself with another woman?

Or, was it more about taking possession of her, and owning her?

  • What do you and your spouse do with your children (if you have them) for quality family time?

I haven't been married 2 years, yet. I have a 14 year old daughter and my husband has a 6 year old daughter, whom we get every other weekend. When my stepdaughter is here, we all go out to eat somewhere kid friendly, go to the movies, go to the park, or we spend time at the house playing games, swimming, etc.

During the week, when it's just my daughter, my husband, and myself, we usually at least eat supper together. There isn't much time for anything. I'm loving Pokémon Go because it's something my 14 year old and I can do together. My husband doesn't care for it, but he'll leash up the dog and walk with us. Sometimes just my daughter and myself cruise around the sleepy streets in my town. We also have movie night on weekends my step daughter isn't here (watching a movie on Netflix). And/or play board games and other things.

We also clean and do yardwork as a family unit. I do spend a lot of time alone with my daughter, though. It's part of the single mom lifestyle that I did for 12 years. While we're doing our thing, my husband has some down time (he works 70 hours a week).

    So.....what do your families do?

  • Do hospitals raise costs for insured people?

I went to the ER a few weeks ago.

I have decent medical insurance, and have a co-pay for ER visits of $200. My insurance covers the rest.

During my visit, I received 2 injections and was given 3 prescriptions. I was did not receive any x-rays or had blood drawn or anything like that.

The total bill for that visit was close to $2000! Thank goodness my insurance covered it all. My husband had to go to the ER a couple of years ago, before we had insurance. He actually required an ambulance and his bills didn't add up to $2k.

So, it made me wonder if hospitals have the ability to jack up their prices when they have someone with insurance that covers 100 percent. Or, has the cost of medical really gone up that much in 2 years

  • Best jailbroken media streamer?

I am looking to "cut the cable" and I am really interested in the android TV boxes that are jailbroken and have Kodi installed onto them.

But, which is the best one? Or, should I got for a jailbroken Fire stick/box?

Also, how do they work, exactly? Do you download whatever app you want and you don't have to subscribe to the app to use it?

    Thanks!

  • Cracked screen worth replacing?

I have a Magnavox Smart Tv....42" (I believe). My nephew threw a toy and hit it this weekend, cracking the screen.

Would it be worth replacing the screen? I have read that a replacement would cost just as much as a new TV, but I wanted to ask for opinions here.

I hate the thought of tossing out a TV that works perfect.

  • Period PTO???

I wasn't sure which category to put this under. Please move it to a more suitable category if you feel there is one it fits better in.

I saw an article this morning that said a company in the UK is talking about giving women special paid time off when they are on their periods.

I found this quite offensive, and was basically attacked for sharing that thought. IMO, it is regression. Women have fought for equal rights and have demanded equal treatment in the workplace, but now they want special treatment because of their periods??

I understand SOME women may have very painful periods, but, IMO, in those times they should use sick pay or regular PTO, if needed. And should also see their doctor for treatment.

    Thoughts? Opinions?

  • My husband's ex asked for some extra money but won't tell us an amount?

My husband's ex contacted him today and asked if he could give her some extra money (ontop of child support) so that she can sign their daughter up for t-ball.

No problem. I asked my husband to ask her how much she needed. Her reply, "I need whatever you can give me". She will not give us a specific amount.

Am I right to find this frustrating? We are on a limited budget and I don't want to give her more than she needs (as horrible as that sounds but we need groceries!).

  • M&D: Do you find it acceptable for a grown woman to cry in order to get her way with her husband?

Ladies, do you lower yourself to use this tactic as a way to control and manipulate your husbands into getting your way?

Gentlemen, do your wives resort to such childish tactics?

    Please, discuss!

  • Decided to have dog spayed, how to convice husband?

My ***** will be 3 years old in a couple of weeks. She is currently intact, which I had planned on keeping her. She has never been bred and I never had any intentions of breeding her. My husband knows this.

Well, after her last 3 estrus cycles, she has lactacted. I wouldn't say she's had full on pseudopregnancies, because she never had distended abdomen or not much change in her behavior, but the lactating is enough to concern me. I know repeat pseudos can increase the risk of developing pyometra.

My husband is against having her spayed. (We have only been married just over a year so technically he has no say as I have raised her from a pup). And I have my mind set on having the procedure done.

Does anyone have any pointers or tips on how I can talk to him about this without it causing much of an uproar. I have explained the health risks she may be facing, etc. He is against it because I think he's always thought he'd talk me into breeding her one day. But, that would have never happened.

    Any advice? Thanks!

  • Where do I find the willpower?

My husband just e-mailed me and told me not to look at the bank account because I would see where he got my Christmas present, and would know what it is.....he is such a goober. I don't know why he didn't get some cash, first! LOL

Where to find the willpower not to look? I've always been a "peeker". When I was a kid I would actually unwrap presents and rewrap them while my mom was at work.

The suspense is gonna kill me! lol

  • Question asked from my account that I did not post?

The latest "question" on my account was not posted by me. It says, "What's up?" and was posted in Singles.

I changed my password, is there anything else I should do?

  • Husbands do you value your wives conditionally?

If you take your wife out for an expensive meal, do you expect her to please you sexually when you get home?

If she is currently boring in the bedroom, due to depression or maybe resentment, do you feel she isn't worth being taken out for an expensive meal?

  • Husbands, which would you prefer?

This question is a bit juvenile, but I haven't asked one in a while so here goes:

My husband's main Christmas gift came in the mail yesterday. I left work early so I could beat him home because he opens any box that comes to the house.

It's a zipper hoodie and it has his favorite football team on it. I know he's going to love it.

Well, the temp dropped today, and he could really use it to wear to work now. Plus I can't stand the anticipation. I'm ready to see his face when he sees it!

So, husbands, would you rather your wife wait and give you a gift on Christmas Day, or do you not care what day it's given on? Would you rather have something now if you could use it now?

Am I the only wife who has a hard time waiting to give her husband his gifts? It's not as difficult waiting to give my daughter her gifts, but I still feel antsy about it.

  • Possible Syncope or seizure??

My 13 year old daughter and I were standing in the kitchen preparing some lasagna. I glanced over at her and she was looking down and her hair was getting in the food. I asked her what was she doing, and she did not respond. I walked over to her and picked her head up with my hands, calling her name, and she said "What?", "I'm ok". And as I was looking at her, she went completely white, her pupils dialated to the point there was hardly any iris left, and she started to go down. Her eyes were wide open, and she was kind of stiff as I eased her down to the floor, calling her name repeatedly. As soon as she hit the floor, she came to and got up.

I took her to the ER. They did an EKG and some bloodwork. The doctor *thinks* she just passed out, he doesn't feel she had a seizure, but I'm not convinced. He sent her home and said for me to followup with her primary doctor, which I am going to do. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and whether you guys think she just fainted or could it have been a seizure?

She did have a febrile seizure when she was 3. Her eyes seemed to be just the same then as they were this time, but there were no convulsions and she turned blue and foamed out of her mouth back then. Also, she was not tired after this event. I know after seizures people usually sleep for a while. My daughter slept for a few hours after the febrile seizure.
