Is it a Sin to play God?

The genetic revolution without question contains great potential for good in the form of better drugs, better medical care, and improved understanding of how living things work. But there is another side to the revolution. Two important questions regarding the engineering of the genetic code: what criteria is established for determining good and bad, useful and dysfunctional genes? And whether there is an institution anyone would trust with the ultimate authority to decide the genetic blueprints for a living thing?” Genetic engineering has progressed and many good medicines have come from genetic engineering but at the same time many death-dealing medicines have come about as well. Our foods are being genetically altered and contaminated imposing terrible health problems upon a large percentage of people including many of our children. Genetically engineered foods are causing many to have diabetes and at the same time biotechnology has produced insulin to combat diabetes; and people are still dying from hunger. Also we have no idea what biotechnology companies are doing!

Those two important questions asked earlier deserve answers. And who is better equipped than the Creator of DNA to determine what is a good or a bad gene? He is the one who knows the innermost workings of the genetic code, as is shown by David at Psalm 139:13-16: “You... I shall laud you because in a fear-inspiring way I am wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, ... and in your book all its parts were down in writing, ...” Would you not prefer to trust God with the ultimate authority to decide the genetic blueprints for all living things? Many many despicable inhuman things have come from genetic engineering. Man will never be able to create a human. Man is limited in knowledge and knowing the precise nucleotide sequence of the entire genome will never happen. Yes, our Creator put limits on man. Man must use what God has already created. Man can produce plant hybrids or animal hybrids but notice all "are according to its kind". Genesis 1:11, 12, 21, 24, 25 "according to it's kind". With biotechnology comes concerns about the erosion of biodiversity. Genetically altered plants raise issues, such as the effects that they may have on us and the environment. Man is trying to make perfect what has been made imperfect by satan the devil. Man thinks he is God and denying they can't do what God has done.

So the Bible book of Genesis says that after creating life on earth, “God saw everything he had made and, look! it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31) Jehovah God wants to see an end to sickness, suffering, and death. Long ago, he made provision to rescue humanity from these problems. The Bible book of Revelation foretells a time when God will intervene in human affairs. Of that time, we read: “[God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” These sweeping changes will not come as a result of the scientific breakthroughs of humans, many of whom do not even admit the existence of God, much less praise him. No, the passage continues: “The One [Jehovah God] seated on the throne said: ‘Look! I am making all things new.’”—Revelation 21:4, 5.

In some experiments yes. Our Intelligent Designer designed certain lifeforms with genetic barriers that prevents them from having offspring if they were to mate to keep freaks of nature from evolving to inhabit planet earth including us modern humans. Our scientsts are in their infancy in understanding genetics and how to manipulate them and are bypassing these genetic barriers under a microscope not knowing what they are about to create that would not normally happen in nature. These experiments will lead to our scientsts creating inferior lifeforms from the already perfected lifeforms our Intelligent Designer created to co-exist on planet earth including us modern humans. All our scientsts will accomplish by these experiments will be creating lifeforms we wish we never created and turning earth into The Island of Doctor Moreau. What a great future that will be for our great, great grandchildren.

We must stop these experiments before it's too late to reverse the damage done.

Why wouldn't God speak up if it was a sin, or put limits on what can be done? Perhaps there is no God?
