As an Orlando resident may I ask a BIG favor of all of you folks?

Update:

I live not that far away from Pulse, the site of yesterday's massacre. Few know better than we Orlandoans do that at moments like this, one of the instinctive things you want to do is assign blame for what happened. That being the case, and I know it's asking a hell of a lot, but could all of the rest of you focus on what this was, simplly an attack by someone who was mentally ill and hated the LGBT community, and was using his faith as justification for his crime? Thanks a lot

I have not really seen anyone say he was mentally ill. I think your assumption that mental illness led to this tends to make people fearful to seek out help and be labeled as mentally ill. It is your own prejudices that lead you to this belief that mental illness must be the cause of something so horrible. Do some soul searching on your own before you preach to others about what they should say.

Sure. Crazy people come in all flavors, but it's the crazy not the flavor that makes them do the crazy things.
