cult-a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.
While cult is not inaccurate, cult also describes all religions, so I think 'extremist Islam' or 'radical Islam', is a better, more accurately descriptive term

The President said it best. It doesn't mstter what you call them. It won't improve the accuracy of our weapons or increase the commitment of our allies. This entire issue about what to call these terrorists would be silly if it were about such a serious issue. Trump, Fox news, and the conservative talk radio hosts have convinced too many morons that using different terminology is a strategy to defeat ISIL, sorry I mean ISIS, apparently they think calling them ISIL is wrong too. .

No. This is a postmodernist idea...that problems can be relabeled into non-existence.
We see this all the time with Islamic terrorism.
Oh...it's not Islam, It's extremism.
Except extremism is not inherently dangerous. A pacifist who is also extremist isn't going to kill anyone. An extremist Star Wars fan isn't going to threaten anything but his dating opportunities.
Not so for a Muslim who is also an extremist.

No. They are most precisely anarchists, murderers, kidnappers, saboteurs and predators of desperate people to carry out their works using a mockery of Islam to motivate.
Our country has dealt with anarchists, murderers, kidnappers, and saboteurs before without declaring that "everything has changed" and rights must be curtailed for the sake of safety.
Errors of the past such as Palmer's raids and the internment of Americans of Japanese ancestry are there to guide our decisions should we wish to avoid the same errors

I think Islam should be banned in the US
