Why Were The Empires in Ancient Greece Created?

1. Item "Ancient Greece" is a romantic issue - such country never existed. Hellenic tribes lived in small city-states, constantly in war among them.
2. So, because country "Greece" has been established in very, very late 1835, the answer is easy: Greeks never had one common country in the past times. So, they have never created one "empire".
3. Macedonian Empire was not Greek.

In Greece there were a cluster of independent city states - feuding & sometimes one city occupying the neighbouring city or cities. The only Empire that can legitimately be called so, was the Macedonian Empire of King Philip & his son Alexander, who created a vast Empire for his times extending upto River Sindhu (Indus) in India in the east & south into Egypt but didn't even reach Rome in the west (leaving the barbarious people to the north).
