Can I be able to give birth without problems?

I am happily married however I got a disability. My disability is stiffness and spasm in my lower legs and I walk with a limp. Me and my husband plan on becoming parents and want a child however I'm scared that because of my disability that my legs will become paralyze and I can't walk anymore.

I want to know will I be able to get pregnant and give birth without losing the use of my legs?

What are some methods of giving birth and can getting a epidural affect me?

Thank You

This is a question that you need to discuss with your doctor. If your doctor thought that simply being pregnant and carrying a child could cause you to become permanently paralyzed, he would probably advise you to NOT ever get pregnant. If he thought that giving birth vaginally would affect your future mobility, he would schedule a C-section and avoid that problem.

An epidural would not affect your future mobility. An epidural does not paralyze you; it only numbs you from the waist down for a few hours.

This is really something that you should discuss with your doctor before getting pregnant if you're concerned there may be any issues. No one on here can give you proper medical advice because the vast majority of them aren't doctors (even though some claim to be) and they don't have access to the medical information they would need to make a recommendation.
