    The second one doesn't make sense. And that's not being rude asking where the toilets are.

    Depends on the situation.

    But in most cases "May I know where the toilets are?" is less rude :)

    the **** holes in India are a pure delight....and believe me scout when there and you scream "where the toilets are" be damned well advised to know exactly where they are ...you will only have a matter of a few minutes before the insides of your britches will feel like a lava flow
