In a top loader washer, water fills up to a certain point but how does the rim ever get clean, and how does the agitator and the drum...?

How does the agitator and the drum ABOVE the water line ever get clean?

Water splashes all over, up and around, quite vigorously. Our top is clear class (LG) so we can look and see it agitating. It is very effective. Those with agitators splash and agitate just the same. The drum is the barrel - the actual unit that holds the laundry.
