Is the starter in my 1999 Grand Cherokee going bad?

Here s what s happening. Keep in mind the battery is fully charged and has been tested. The Jeep sits for over two hours. When I go to turn the key to start it, it takes about 5+ clicks before the engine starts. After it has started I can turn it off and it will fire up on the first click. My first thought was it could be the fuel lines losing pressure. However I decided to play around with it after letting it sit over night. If I turn the key to start and bring it back it on before the engine turns on and only after one click, the engine will fire up during the time from start to on.

The starter solenoid contact may be pitted and clicking it several times will break through the carbon pitting and make contact so the starter works. Just buy a rebuilt starter from Advance Auto.
