Yes. They are still entitled to legal protections. It's about consent... When a prostitute has sex for money she is giving consent. If she is raped that means she didn't give consent.

The key word is consensual. Even prostitutes get to chose who to have sex with (even if its for money.) So yes, I would take it seriously as should everyone else.

Even though its still a crime, I feel there would be a lot of people who would not take it as seriously. Human nature I suppose. Like when a rich person gets robbed. No one cares quite as much.
