If that's the only part of Islam you don't get, you have a problem.

No he didn't. The Koran is exactly the same as the Bible, a work of fiction, a story, a tale of events that never actually happened. So whoever is supposed to have flown anywhere on the back of a donkey did not actually do it. A story teller created an imaginary being and lots of people fell for it.

Salam, well let me correct you, first of all he rode on a buraq (a type of creation not known to mankind that resembles a horse/donkey).

Once you believe in an all mighty all powerful God (subhana wa ta'ala) these things are easy to accept, your mindset is all wrong in that you're trying to understand it with what you know from this world, so of course you will not understand it with such a narrow mindset.

Secondly, it is not as ridiculous as evolution, with evolution the atheists claim that we evolved from microscopic bacteria into horses, birds that have wings, humans, etc. That is nonsense.

You don't get of high school anyway, it seems.

Learn to read properly as there is no mention of a "donkey" anywhere in the accounts.

Cheaters often used to spread false informations themselves in order to make people believe that they are Gods or saints. A Hindu legend says that Sundarar was taken up to heaven by a white elephant. I guess even some Kings might have spread the lies that they had magical powers in order to keep the enemies in fear and protect their reigns.

It's symbolic. Like Pegasus but a more humble version. That humble stuff did not last well.

An entertaining campfire story meant to enthrall gullible Bedouins. Nothing more.
