How long would it take for me to learn how to swim properly.?

My goal for summer is to be able to swim properly by the end. I want to be able to swim as away to exercise. i am starting with no real ability to swim but im willing to practice at least two to three times a week out side of the class which is only once a week.

    It depends, serious swimming can take years of practice, but being able to swim for fun, can take up to a few weeks to half a year, it just all depends how willing you are! :)

    It really depends on your commitment :) . For most, swimming is very easy to pick up, and as long as you are working hard you will get exercise, no matter your form. Something like the doggy paddle can be picked up shortly, probably within a day. After you get that down practice other strokes like freestyle and the breaststroke. By the end of the summer you'll be more than a capable swimmer.

    If you're over 9 years old, it should only take you a few weeks to learn all you need to know. It will take much longer to build stanima and master strokes however.

    how old are you? nevertheless you should really practice with someone who can swim and generally take it easy. Good Luck

    Practice in the shallow end first.
