Why did god's not dead and the sequel do so well when they so obviously sucked?

    Because Christians care more about supporting things that agree with them than whether or not those things are good.

    This explains why virtually all contemporary Christian movies or music suck. It also explains how they seem to not notice the horrific shortcomings and obvious ineptitude of the Bible and it's alleged authors respectively.

    You remind me of a friend of mine who insists that Donald Trump is a horrible failure as a businessman. (this conversation was years ago, long before he was running for president.)

    You are confusing your opinion of the movie, with an unbias assessment. If a Christian movie is over 3 on IMDB then is must be a totally awesome film. IMDB users tend to be very anti-Christian.
