Out here in the real world we know that an armed whack job will ALWAYS be able to fire 20 rounds into an unsuspecting crowd before a GGWAG can fire off their first round
The gun crazies believe that 20 dead good guys to 1 dead bad guy is a sustainable ratio

They don't. There was a shooting at a gun show. And a shooting at Fort Hood (an army base). And there's a serial killer in Phoenix who just shoots people in their cars.
