Is it normal to see a spark when you plug something in?

    it is not unusual at all, especially with the switch-mode power supply units that are used with most electronics these days.

    No it's not, in the UK, because by the time the metal pins make contact inside the socket, you can't see them, and most appliances don't make a spark when you plug them in anyway. They sometimes make a spark if you unplug them while they are still switched on, but most times, you wouldn't see that either unless the room was dark.

    Since this is in the singles and dating section, I think the sparks should come way before "something" is plugged in

    NORMAL !

    EXCEPT THE DEVICE CONSUMES LESS THAN 10W AND IT IS NOT A MOTOR OR TRANSFORMER DEVICE, THEN SPARK SHALL NOT SHOW.
