What was Christopher hitchens talking about when he said that Jews have an atheist gene?

I'm not sure if this is right, but in the OT the ancient Hebrews called the Gentiles atheists because they didn't believe in their God. So maybe Hitchens is talking about the Jews not believing in Jesus as the Messiah, so they are atheists.....?

At the heart of Jewish culture is to question. You see this within the Babylonian Talmud. Judaism unlike other cultures is not content with simple dogmatic answers to questions. Some times if you as a question, you might get 3 or 4 answers in a Jewish context and they are all valid and true.

In fact that tradition of question is so strong that even questioning God is encouraged in Judaism. That's why in the Hebrew scriptures Israel literally means one who "wrestles with God". The Prophets openly question God. The Rabbis themselves question God as well.

Most Jews lean liberal and are completely lost.This is true of American Jews and those living in Israel. In spite of modern day Israel being the home of God's chosen people and the messiah. These are the same Jews who rejected and had Christ crucified. Israel is even more liberal than the USA right now. They have massive gay pride parades and immorality is rampant.
