Why is Peter singer so leftist?

Update:

Is it because of his Jewish culture? Or was he influenced by something else?

    John Stuart Mill · Henry Sidgwick · R.M. Hare · Jonathan Glover · Derek Parfit · Karl Marx.

    If Karl Marx was a major influence on me I would likely be a communist.

    Peter Singer is an atheist and his views are very much opposed to the views of Judaism so more likely his values, such as they are, come from elsewhere.

    I think it may be because of some wrong influence after reading bad philosophy books.
