What are my steps to getting into my college's football team?

tldr at the end!

My high school was a charter and didn't have a football team, so I couldn't play there, but I have always wanted to. No one in my family has played on a team so it's not really common either.

I have above a 2.0 GPA but I don't know any of my stats other than height/weight, which are; H: 5'7' W: 140

Been weightlifting for the past 4 years.

tldr; I wanna play football, how can I join my college team? Also, based on H/W what would be an ideal position?

Get a tryout. They will assign a position if you make the team.

Christ, you cannot even formulate a proper question. I'd focus on school, since you are not going to make the team, no matter how you try. Even Rudy was fodder for the practice squad, and the coach put him in out of his loyalty and dedication. With that height and weight, you would be killed.

I highly encourage you to try out, and become a walk-on, for your college football team this upcoming season. Based on your height and weight, I believe that the best fit for you is at strong safety. You have the ideal size for a high school strong safety.

My best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this summer is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of making it as a walk-on for your college football team this upcoming season.
