MSI GT70 dedicated GPU not being used.?

The GPU is not being used when i use the factory drivers from MSI. The reason why i use them is because the new drivers don't support the overclocking tool that MSI uses. However, on the factory ones the gpu refuses to do anything. I have tried disabling intel graphics and it switches to basic display driver.

you cannot disable the gpu(INTEL hd) that is part of your CPU. the way dual gpu laptop systems now work is this. the default gpu, usually the intel HD controls the output this is because it and only it is connected to the HDMI port and to the LCD. the 2nd gpu is only used when load increases, to manipulate data. There is a DATABASE on line with a list of all the EXE's that might need a better gpu, and how it should be used. then your gpu drivers need to update this list to understand all exe's you might run. in some cases the exe is not in the list, but you can add it. where a system is a desktop, then windows has always allowed for 2 gpu's, you just tell your BIOS which one to start Windows with as the DEFAULT one. once you tell the bios, then your 2nd gpu is always the default one( IE ITS NOW THE 1ST gpu).
