Dieting for GERD?

Almost a month ago, I have been diagnosed with GERD. I have been taking ranitidine, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have also gained weight over the course of the year from 143 pounds to 180. I am thinking the weight I gained maybe putting pressure on the lower part of my esophageal sphincter. Aside from taking the pills, I want to ask. I have decided to stop eating and drink between 8 to 12 cups of water with exercise and taking a vitamins to help me lose weight. I plan to do this for 2 weeks and see the results. So far its been 3 days. How does that sound?

To lose weight all you really have to do is watch your portions and chew at least 20 times before swallowing to help you tummy with digestion. Then try and eat colorful foods and veggies like carrots, peas, corn, beets, spinach, brussel sprouts, eggplant, etc. Eat fish twice a week and lessen your meat intake. Each chicken and turkey for protein. The last thing, and this is real important, exercise. Walk at least 30 minutes everyday. You can work into this slowly by walking 10 minutes a day and working up to 30 minutes. Losing weight will definitely help the GERD. Much success
