Did native americans have throwing knives?

    Not before colonization. Some North American Amerindians had begun using copper; and other Amerindians were just at the beginnings of metalurgy. Thus they were reduced to using stone implements (slate knives and stone tomahawks); and slate would shatter if thrown and encountered any harder surface.

    Pre-Colombian, not so much. They were better off attaching the flint blades to a shaft and using it as a spear. A well balanced iron blade obtained in trade would lend itself to being thrown, but, as far as I know, there was not real tradition of American Indians using knives in this way.

    They had very little metallurgy at all. You are talking neolithic stone age cultures as late as the 15th century AD.
