Synonym help?

What's a word to describe a feeling of like, cautious certainty. Like you just realized something, and maybe you're not completely comfortable enough with the idea to state it boldly, but you just know that it's true. The sentence i'm trying to work out is: "You guys", he said with ___ (word needed) _____, "...this is the same house."

Any ideas?

Honestly, you could probably just use cautious certainty.

These are just a (probably crappy) few that came to my head:

    - restraint

    - regret (like he doesn't want it to be true)

Yeah, I don't have many. Sorry :( Good luck though! :)

difficult concept to illustrate - but I suggest

You guys", he said guardedly, "...this is the same house."
