TI84 Cant graph sqrt-x?

Update:

I can not graph -sqrtx or sqrt-x.

Any suggestions?

Update 2:

I just noticed it wont graph any negative x's such as y=-x^2

Update 3:

You were all wrong. I was using the subtraction sign instead of negative haha ><

sqrt of -x is not imaginary. It only is imaginary if x is positive. And you don't have to key it as x^0.5.

Just use the correct -, that is problaby the problem. I just tried and the calculator added a parenthesis on its onw after the square root sign. I checked the graph, and it was only on the negative side.

    sqrt-x vs sqrt( - x) or √ (-x)...with domain being [ - 10 , 0 ] it will...sqrt- means nothing to the calculator

As typed sqrt(-x) will never register because it is imaginary (i sqrt(x)).

You have to key it in as x^0.5
