How can I convince my parents to let me stay at home with another relative? Please help?

My family is going to Milwaukee next Friday, but I don't feel good enough to go and can't go. I am still coughing still, and I don't want to give the people in Milwaukee germs. I have told them that, but all my parents said that I am going, but I don't want to give the people in Milwaukee germs. I have convinced my parents that I have summer homework to do, but all they said is that I am going, but I don't want to give the people in Milwaukee germs. I have convinced my parents that on Friends, they get to stay at home while their family goes on vacation, but all they said is that they don't live at their parents' house anymore on Friends because they got jobs and moved out on it. Two of my friends get to stay at home next Friday because they are going away. The only reasons why I don't want to go are that I am not feeling good and can't go because I am coughing still, I don't want to give the people in Milwaukee my germs, I have summer homework to do, and I want to watch my grandma's TV. The only ways I can convince my parents to let me stay at home with another relative are to have stomach surgery (which is what I don't want to do because I feel worried that they wouldn't put me in the adult section), have gallbladder surgery (which is what I don't want to do either) get a job at Hollister or Panera and move out like they did on Friends (which is what I don't want to do either.

How can I convince my parents to let me stay home with another relative? Can you help?

We get it. You don't want to give the people in Milwaukee your germs. But seriously, how many people do you think you're going to come into close contact with during your visit to Milwaukee?

And if your family's not going there until a week from today (next Friday), your cold or whatever you have will have gone away by then and you'll be fine.

As for your summer homework -- you have a week before your family goes to Milwaukee. Get it done before your trip!

As for wanting to stay home so you can watch your grandma's TV -- don't you have a TV at home to watch? What's so special about grandma's TV?

And as for saying that the "only way" to convince your parents to let you stay home is to have stomach or gallbladder surgery, well, do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? WHY would you have surgery, when all that's apparently wrong with you is that you have a cough that *might* be contagious?

And as for getting out of going by getting a job at Hollister or Panera and moving out of your parents' house -- really? You expect to be able to get a job and save up enough money to move out before next Friday? To be honest, if you're working a minimum-wage job at Hollister or Panera, I doubt you'll make enough money to be able to live on your own anyway. And you do know that "Friends" is not a documentary, right? The characters on the show never seem to go to work, spend all their time hanging out at the coffee bar, and yet they can afford huge apartments in NYC that would realistically cost thousands of dollars a month in rent. But that's another discussion.

The impression I'm getting is that you're afraid to go to Milwaukee because you've never been to a big city before, so you're coming up with all these lame excuses. I think you should suck it up, go visit Milwaukee with your family, do some sightseeing, and have a good time. You might actually like it.

You won't convince your parents of anything, because it's insane for someone to claim they'll be so sick a WEEK LATER that they'll still be tossing germs around.

It's obvious you don't want to go for some reason, and you're creating all sorts of medical drama over something imaginary. That's why nobody can help you convince them. They know this, too.

Why would you need surgery? Only a doctor will do surgery if you really need it. I find you saying that is odd. Where will your parents being sleeping overnight in Milwaukee? At a hotel? If so, then go and just stay in the hotel room. You are being over dramatic about giving people germs. Germs are everywhere, not just in sick people. Just go.
