Help me entering high school?
Hello I am entering the 9th grade and I feel like I am dumb and will pass with low grades. I have gotten almost perfect grades last year except for a B but I feel like I am never smart enough. Also is there any tips for remembering the concept of certain subjects easier? I don't want to be the dumb kid in school. Also if you can give me tips or advice for entering high school that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Personally, the learning expirence between 8th and 9th grade is barely noticeable. Teacher's will expect you to act more mature because you're in high school, though.
There's a difference between getting good grades and being smart. Anyone can get good grades just by following the system or cheating it. But being smart is something you have to work at, and is usually the goal. I used to get good grades, but I wanted to be smart. So now I get both! And you can too with this advice:
Use loose leaf paper in class to take notes. The at home, keep an actual notebook and re-write your notes. Make them organized, make them look pretty. Having them look nice makes it easier for your brain to process, and writing it down a second time helps reinforce information.
I recommend watching crash-course videos on YouTube. Really helpful for reinforcing information.
Also, check out Studyign on YouTube/Tumblr. She's a study-centric channel with great tips that helped me too!

You sound like a really smart kid and my advice to is to not think so negative about yourself. And a B isn't a bad grade. Plus colleges don't start looking at your grades until your 10th grade year, but that doesn't mean you mess around in class either. Just concentrate on getting good grades, and also like the person above me said, have fun. High school is preparing your for life in many ways and you're going to see a lot of things. It's also best to be a good student and not be disruptive, teachers like students like that. Whenever you need recommendations, teachers are someone of the people you should able to go to and ask for one. And also, make friends.

I'm going into 9th grade too! Here are some tips:
- Take notes always, and go over them nightly.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions! Your teacher is there to help, and if you're nervous about asking questions in front of the whole class then stay after the bell for a minute or two if you want to ask the teacher something.
- Use websites like Kahn Academy if you don't fully understand what you learned in class. YouTube videos also really help.
- Try to focus on studying and avoid procrastination. I'm a chronic procrastinator myself, but I'm working on getting better at focusing. There's a lot of helpful internet guides.
- Make a friend in each class, so you have someone to talk to about things you didn't quite understand in class that day.
- Get a few binders or folders, and keep you papers organized. Go through them each semester and get rid of things you won't need, and file things that you'd like to keep.
- Always do your part in group projects.
- Get some apps to help you stay focused and organized! My personal favorites are FocusNow, BeFocused, and Any.Do
- If your school used Google Drive, keep it organized! What I did was make a folder for each school (elementary, middle, high), and then in those folders I made more folders for each grade, and then in the grade folders I made folders for each teacher. It is a little time consuming, but it helps a lot.
- Use your planner. I used to never use mine and I would always forget due dates, but I've started using it and now I almost never forget to turn things in.
- If you have something big coming up or if you're just really busy (soccer game, hours of homework from another class, etc.) you can ask your teacher to extend the due date for you and you two can work something out. Just make sure to ask in advance!
- It's okay to try and befriend the upperclassmen, but respect them too. At my school, we have a side of the cafeteria that the seniors sit on, and all the freshmen know to leave them alone.
- Do your homework. Seriously.
- Try taking a foreign language. They can be super helpful (especially when you're looking for a job in the future) and it looks great on college applications.
- Join a club or two, and maybe do a sport. Colleges love to see that.
- Don't worry about popularity or dating.
- Don't go out with upperclassmen or your teachers.
- Make studying fun for yourself. Use color, watch videos, make a study group - whatever works best for you.
- Don't stress over grades.
- Stay away from drugs and alcohol. You probably hear it a lot, but seriously avoid it.
- Most parties suck, so don't go if you don't want to.
- Don't give in to peer pressure. Say no if you don't want to do it.
- Stay after if you need help in a class.
- If you're feeling stressed, do whatever helps you de-stress. Watch a movie, play outside, do a face mask - whatever works.
- Don't be afraid to let go of toxic friends.
- Above all, go into high school with a good work ethic and a positive attitude, don't be afraid to challenge yourself, believe in yourself, and have fun.
Hope this helps!! Don't worry too much about high school, I know it looks scary (I'm still a little scared) but you'll do fine, and I'm sure you'll have a great time. <3
