How do you say "Is it true" in french?

Update:

i've found c'est vrai and est-il vrai which is correct? wouldnt the first translation mean "it is true"?

Update 2:

if the "it" in "is it true" was referring to what someone was thinking like "is what you're thinking the truth" would that be masculine or feminine?

Yes, "c'est vrai" is "tha'ts true"; you have to include the question mark and then it's a question. "Est-il vrai?" (Is it true?); "C'est vrai?" (That's true?)

You can do the same in English: "That's right." or "That's right?"

"C'est vrai" is "that's true" but in French you can form questions by just adding a question mark at the end (C'est vrai?) unless it's formal writing. (In speech, you just intone it as a question.)

"Est-il vrai?" or "Est-elle vrai?" is "Is it true?" depending what the "it" is and whether it's masculine or feminine.
