Is Miller High Life beer similar tasting to the other cheaper american beers?

I know a lot of you beer snobs are going to attack me but I don't drink this stuff. I drink good quality beer but I'm having a BBQ with some people and cheaper beer is better for that. I've never had MHL but it's $8.99 fir a 12 pack where I am. Is it similar tasting to bud light, coors lite, and all those other weaker beers?

As much as I love my $12/pint craft beers, I don't always need a thick syrupy super bitter lemon infused cherry cake love sex death IPA. A little corn water will do. In the world of "domestic premiums" Miller is pretty constantly good. There are a few like Coors that I'm not a fan of but I'm not going to make a huff at my cousin's wedding or nothing.

While I'm sure the cognitive level of marketing is at hand here, in part, it really just comes to personal taste. I'll never give someone hell for the beer they like. But you just have to find your own on your own. I'm a fan of malt liquor. 211 or olde E. In college when I basically had $2000 extra to blow on crack and hookers if I wanted to; bread and butter is a colloquial term for a reason. A $7 pint of the best craft brew your city has to offer can a treat or a way to look like a total tool. The honey fried chicken I'm making needs to be welcomed into a pool of light, barely-ey, Miller High Life. If I sit at home alone and drink a $10 beer that makes my dinner **** to be cool when noone is looking, I might a well cover myself in foil to be "shinny" on a budget.

Its all personal taste. I actually prefer Miller High Life over Bud or Coors, especially on a hot day when its ice cold. Its a good beer, but must be ice cold. Buy it in bottles, not cans.

Pabst Blue Ribbon, Rolling Rock, Coors Light, all cheap as well, always on sale.

Miller High Life is a decent cheap beer. Frankly, I prefer it to Bud--which has kind of a bitter taste. And Coors regular is so watery, I can't imagine what Coors Lite tastes like.

I prefer better beers myself--such as Sam Adams. And I really think the stronger taste would hold up better to something like BBQ. Still, Miller is fine. Just make sure it's served very cold.

Miller is better than most of the cheaper brands. Miller "Genuine Draft" (which is not really draft beer, by the way) is the best of the Miller beers.

miller is pretty good cheap beer. i was surprised.

even cheap beer isn't really cheap to me.

you've got to buy a 30 pack of beer if you really want to save money.

i agree with the person that said make it ice cold. i think that's one of the secrets to making it taste better.

plus a salty snack with it.

  • Honestly everything you've mention is terrible, and serving your guests swill is poor form. It says "I don't really like you people, here's some lousy cheap beer"
