What causes more damage for your hair; going lighter or darker?
I wanted to go blonde bc my hair is naturally really light brown so I didn't think it would take much to lift the color. However, I really don't want to damage my hair too much, if I go darker will that damage it less?

Darker just adds colour to your hair, but lighter has to lighten your hair as well as change the colour. So going lighter does do more damage.

neither will neccessarily hurt IF...IF..you take care of it..BUT the "bleach" if overused, can be bad yes. Alcohol is bad for your hair. Use good product, do hot oil treatments, ect. A mask is good too.
