Can the vice president break a tie in the senate vote (to decide the next vp) after electoral college tie?

    If no candidate receives 270 electoral votes, the House of Representatives is empowered to select the next President (and VP) from the three candidates with the most electoral votes.

    No. The VP is in the Senate and the vote is in the House.

    What tie vote? In theory yes, but not happening in 2016

    that isn't how it works.

    The House decides the winner in the event the electoral college cannot.
