Apparently Texas gives partially free college to residents with learning disabilities.?

I am not native to Texas. However I did move here over a year ago. I am curious if I would qualify for this? I a not sure if you have to live so many years here or have to go through a medical test. I am dyslexic BTW.

No it doesn't. I have learning disabilities and did not get free college because of it.

Texas gives a tuition exemption to students who ARE blind or deaf---note this is not the same as a learning disability. They have to cognitively perform the same as a student who is not blind or deaf though.

And the student has to perform at college academic level. College is different than a k-12 public school. Colleges covered under ADA and/or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 only provide reasonable accommodation of an otherwise qualified student.

Colleges don't test you for disabilities, you would have to get vocational rehabilitation to agree to pay for it or use your parents insurance.

People who are blind/deaf do not necessarily see themselves as being people with disabilities. They see themselves as a different culture. This is why there is the partial tuition waiver here. They can perform the same academic work.
