Can someone ease my nerves? Please?

On September 9th, I'm going to fly to visit my aunt in Reno from Phoenix. But I'm scared that something bad is going to happen (Crash, bombing, kidnapping). I'm 13.

P.S. I'm flying with Southwest

On any given day, 600,000 people fly somewhere in the US. None of them have anything bad happen to them- commercial planes don't crash and people don't get lost in airports. In fact airport are probably the safest place you could possibly be. There's a ton of security. And there are many airline employees who will be happy to help you. In fact at your age, there will probably be an employee who will escort you through security and to your gate. Then someone will meet you when you get off, and take you to meet your aunt.

I flew for the first time when I was 12, in a small, propeller plane. It was great!

Listen little Jack, chill out man. Two of us flew from Montreal to LA with American, we connected to Qantas to Sydney, we were there two days and flew with British here to London, not even a hiccup.

I am sitting here at Heathrow waiting for our flight, which would you freaking believe it, has been delayed six hours.

Man your going from Phoenix to Reno, trust me, your nerves may be shot now with worry, but once you are up, you won't be able to contain yourself to get on the return flight.

Jack, security is that tight at most airports these days, that the likelihood, would be almost zero?

    Enjoy your flight "Jack".

Don t be scared of something like that happening it s highly unlikely for the plane to crash, the pilots are trained well that is why there are able to fly so many people. If someone tried to kidnap you, there are a lot of police officers standing around and if your still on the plane then there are other people that can help.

It's more likely for you to get hurt in a car or biking then a plane. No worries they gave procedures and protection plans. Other then the cloud ear you should be fine (cloud ear is what i call that muffled feeling in your ear like when you cover them)

Cars are more dangerous. Planes are very well controlled. Reno & Phoenix are definetly not Isis targets

  • Your odds of having something happen are microscopic. Put it this way- you're far more likely to have something happen if you drive rather than fly.

consider how long it would take to walk. and how many people are hit by cars each day.

    get a life.

it's actually much safer to be on a plane
