Have a 1990 ford Aerostar 3.0 2wheel drive mini van. When it heats up, coolant drains out a hose under the radiator cap.?

    That hose under the radiator cap SHOULD be going to an overflow bottle that captures coolant from the radiator when pressure builds up. If your car doesn't have one, you might be able to find a used one at a local auto salvage yard.

    There is supposed to be an overflow tank to catch that. Then when it cools down, it draws it back into the radiator.

    Find a bottle (one liter should do it) and attach it, then put the hose in it before you run the thing out of coolant.

    A 1990 van came with a recovery tank. Buy a replacement on amazon. Also, make sure your RADIATOR cap is good. They wear out too.
