What does this even mean?

I came across this in one of the college reading materials shared with me in semester 1:

"Auctioning the eggs of fashion models encourages parents to fixate on their child’s

physical appearance. So auctioning the eggs of fashion models promotes an

unhealthy attitude."

That by taking the eggs of a fashion model and auctioning it off to those looking for an egg donor encourages the notion that exterior is more important than other things. Instead of looking for parents and having them pick from traits they are picking from the pretty people and its going to the highest bidder and not to the best fit.

It means auctioning models' eggs attracts bidders who want their children to have fashion model-like physical characteristics. Since many models are underweight, this caters to or encourages an unhealthy attitude about a child's physical appearance.
