Girl got offended while I was joking?
So this girl and I have been talking, I'm pretty into her.
She just finished the gym class, and since it was late she said she's feeling lazy to shower.
So I jokingly said, just go to sleep, you're always dirty anyway.
And then, all of a sudden, she flips.
Like saying: I'm so rude, and it's the worst thing she's been called in her life. And how it's the 2nd chance she giving me to go after her and how I ruin it.
Am I missing something here?
I clearly meant it as a joke. can someone enlighten me on how wrong it can be taken?

Honestly if someone said this to me I would be offended too. Keep in mind that girls are very self conscious about... well, everything. So saying that there's no point in showering, because she's always dirty anyways, is basically insulting her personal hygiene. "Why bother showering? Not like you do it any other time". I think your best bet here would be to apologist and explain that you meant it as a joke.

Ecclesiastes 7:9 says "Do not be quick to take offense, for the taking of offense lodges in the bosom of fools" its very practical counsel. How often do we say or do things that may offend other people, or how often to they do or say things that offend us? How do we feel afterwards? A small offense which was not an offense to begin with can ruin a good relationship, and I see what you mean sometimes we may slip up and say the wrong thing, which we never ment in a bad way, after all we are imperfect and say things that may hurt somebody, but just talking it out and not taking offense ourselves will help the situation . and asking for forgiveness even though we feel like we did nothing to ask for it in the first place lol it happens and I hope it works out for you.

Ignore her completely. If she ever approaches you or messages you, reply "I don't talk to unstable girls. There's no need for us to talk. Bye."
She knows she over reacted to your joke. This way, you are calling her a psycho chick on a polite way. Furthermore, you are ignoring her, which bothers girls. If she apologizes and wants to talk, you say "Is that kind of behavior going to happen again?" She will say no. But at least this way, you can make jokes and she knows if she flips out, you will never, ever speak to her again.

You seriously need to learn what is funny and what is simply a rude insult. That, my friend, wasn't funny at all. Claiming something is a joke after the fact doesn't fix it.
