I have a question about mitral valve repair surgery.?

I need to know if this type of surgery is the type in the category of open heart surgery?

Or is it along the lines of microscopic type surgery?

    Mitral valve repair was formerly performed by an open heart procedure, but can now be performed by inserting a robotic arm through the artery in the leg up into the heart. Depends to a certain degree on the nature of the defect and the skill and preference of the heart surgeon.
