What life-form is likely to replace us when our extinction occurs?

What life-form is likely to replace us when our extinction occurs? I presume that, whatever it is, is here already, in some prototypical phylum. Will it be intelligent, or just hardy?

    Well rats and cockroaches are the only 2 creatures that can survive a direct atomic blast so it would be one or both of them.
