Has there ever been a case where a person got an injection directly to the brain, or perhaps just some injection somewhere else to cure it?

When something needs to get in there and doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier, intrathecal injection (via spinal tap) is the usual route. It might be a little impractical to try to stab a little needle through the skull, don't you think, especially since you'd have to avoid some pretty important structures, and even a little bleeding could be fatal..

I have a friend who had a wire port installed so a computer could program her brain. She emailed me two weeks later and said it helped her. However that has been six months, and I have heard no more from her.
