What's the best program for writing college essays?
I'm currently in my first semester of college, and taking a composition class. Essays will be a part of this, and they have to be in MLA style.
What's the best program to use for this (i.e. MS Word, Office, etc)?

MS Word is a word processing software, so that will work fine. Office is a suite of products that would include Word but also Excel Powerpoint and Publisher etc. If you think you might have to give presentations with visual aids, you might want to go with the Office suite because Powerpoint would be what you use for that.

MLA is one of several formats for assembling and writing essays, it is not a software. MLA describes how to use punctuation, write titles and headings, write citations when quoting someone and setting out borders and paragraphs etc.
