The general form of an Arithmetic Progression is
a a + d a + 2d a + 3d ...........a + (n - 1)d
Thus the 18th term is given by a + 17d
a + 17d = 3362..........(1)
Similarly the 38th term is given by a + 37d
a + 37d = 7362..........(2)
(2) - (1)
20d = 4000
d = 200
Substitute this value into (1)
a + 17(200) = 3362
a + 3400 = 3362
a = -38
Thus the nth term is -38 +(n - 1)200
= -38 + 200n - 200
= 200n -238
