ITT technical Institute has completely closed down, they were a private for profit school that i graduated from 1 year ago...?

Do i still have to pay off my loans

    Yes, you do have to pay your loans. There is a Closed School Discharge program, but it only applies to students who are currently enrolled at ITT or who left within 120 days of the day the school closed, and who will not be able to complete their program elsewhere. Since you completed your program more than 120 days ago, you would not be eligible. As of now, that is the only program for loan forgiveness that is being offered to ITT's students. However, the situation is still evolving. It is possible that there will be a class action suit that the future that you could participate in.

    Yes.

    The only ones getting loan forgiveness are those who were currently enrolled (or dropped out within the last 120 days). Since you graduated and got your degree, you received the degree that the loans paid for, and therefore must pay it back.
