Would you take a bullet for your President?

Question

I'm no fan of any of the people who have served as Presidents during my lifetime, except perhaps Reagan.

I would take a bullet to save any of them. Even - or perhaps especially - Jimmy Carter, who I could only meet while building houses as part of "Habitat for Humanity."

It's totally weird for me to hear that anyone actually wishes harm or death on Hillary Clinton. How is that remotely human, to wish the death of another?

To wish the death of another human being is a horrible thing, to say the least. I am even vehemently opposed to Abortion, and the Death Penalty.....not to mention war, murder, or suicide. In short, if it causes the death of a human being, I am against it. Now, there ARE some things worth fighting for and dying for. Dying, while trying to protect your family from danger, or from someone who IS dangerous, is a praise-worthy action. But, do I love the people of my country sufficient to take a bullet for the President the people elected is a difficult question to answer. I think I would. The way I see it, if someone tries to shoot the President, it's like they are trying to shoot the American people, as well. And, I would take a bullet to save 320 million Americans.

I'd take a bullet for a service member or a cop or a member of my family. The president is an elected official not that important who has it.

Yes, because the Presidency is more than an individual.  It's a representation of the US.  An attack on the President IS an attack on the US same as if it were an American flag.
A successful assassination would damage the morale of the country.  That's why they've been attempted, why threats are taken so seriously and why the the Secret Service exists.
And I deplore Obama and Hillary.

I would do it for my adopted country the USA, which I love dearly.. I would do it because I know President Trump would bring the USA back to the free country of my Childhood dreams . The amazing country that overwhelmed me  with awe ,when I first set foot on it.
Young Americans don't know how much they are led into socialist hell and they will never know what all they have missed.
