How can I help my wife? She is a secretary for an elementary school. She gave Rx medication to a student incorrectly.?

Give her a hug. Unless she gave meds that weren't prescribed to the student to begin with (example; she gave meds that were her own) the school will handle liability issues if this was part of her job.
And if it wasn't part of her job the school is negligent because secretaries aren't generally qualified to hand out beds.

She's supposedly a grown adult, let HER deal with HER f*ck up and the consequences of not letting the school nurse to THEIR job.
The principle is looking after the best interests of the child that was given incorrect dosage. That is why the school NURSE should have done it because they do know all about that kind of stuff. But your wife took it upon herself to do it. The principle is making an example out of her, although it may not seem right does seem appropriate. What do you think would have happened if the kid died because of her mistake? Do you think that she should get a free pass on accidentally killing a child? I don't If there was a device that the should have been used to measure it correctly and she didn't try to contact them for it that was on her if there was no school nurse who knows more about those kind of measurements.

You can stop posting ANY details anywhere, or discussing the details of the situation with *anyone*. Then hire a lawyer to defend her, and minimize the damage. Find a good malpractice attorney who deals with medical issues- they know the ins and outs of this, and can minimize it best.
Don't post anything more- you should have deleted the details, and ma or may not be able to ask Yahoo to do it. You never want to tell anyone except your attorney- this stuff can be used against her.
Please. Get her a malpractice attorney, not just a basic lawyer. Your physician knows one.

Continued: Parents failed to provide school with a device to measure the liquid pain medication with. She estimated, under-medicating slightly. Did not give the wrong medicine, did not over-medicate. Principal reported it to the school board. Meeting followed at which superintendent and vice-superintendent said no action was required and asked at one point why they were even meeting about it at all. Now one week later, Board is sending wife a letter which is going in her file. Wife is depressed and wants to quit. She loved her job but this new principal is awful and wants to "get" her.

You can do nothing except hire a lawyer for her. SHE has the dog in the fight, you don't and she'll likely be fired.

You can't. It wasn't even her place to dispense medications. That is the school nurse's job.
