Can ants eat tarantula's molted skin?

I've seen things on nature channels of red ants/army ants devouring t arantulas and other animals, but I was wondering if they would still do the same to a tarantulas molted skin, is there only certain types of antthat would be able todothis? Or would they not want it because there's no real meat or blood (nutrients rather) inside, or could they use it for building? Any any keepers, lovers or professionals welcome if they have the knowledge

A lot of ants are scavengers and might use a shed exoskeleton for a food source. The shed skin is chitin, and is a bit of a hardened, protein keratin so it does have some positive food value.

Some arthropods and crustaceans will even eat their own exuvea, for the added protein.

I have seen ants attack and kill a scorpion, and when they were done, just nothing remained.

I have also seen ants disassemble a fly and carry it away, leaving only the wings.

    Hope this helps.
