1. Make something unique
Copying other typical vloggers/let's players/sketch youtubers will just not work. Just create new content like LeafyIsHere did.
2. Try interacting/getting a notice from already famous youtubers on twitter. Their fans might want to know who you are and might check you out and maybe even subscribe or become fans of yours.
3. Have a good quality editing/camera/background/microphone. The myth that quality doesn't matter is just untrue.
4. Make sure you will have time to upload.
Your subscribers will wait for you and make sure you can upload if not daily, at least 4-5 times a week.
5. Tags
When uploading, youtube will give you option to tag your video about what topic it is and tag famous youtubers that when people are searching for them they see your channel.
6. Make intriguing videos
Such as Different social experiments, celebrity experiences etc.
