Check with an on-line memory store to see IF your computer model can run 4 Gb. Many times laptops are sold with the minimum amount of memory. If your laptop can handle 4 Gb, and it's rather new and uses DDR2 or DDR3 memory it usually can take 4Gb. Most laptops have two slots. You could have 2 x 1Gb or just one slot used with a 2Gb chip. Also the laptop my have the slowest speed memory installed. So checking on-line to see if your model could take a faster speed chip (not always as the type of CPU you have determines that), but only by replacing both with the higher speed chips. You can't add one faster memory chip as the CPU will default to the slowest speed.
I would get a tech friend to buy and install the memory (just to make sure you get the right kind). It should only cost $40 or so for 2 -2Gb chips. Memory has dropped like a rock in the past 4 years. The memory is very easy to install.

Not in any useful way.
If your machine doesn't have enough RAM, it will use hard disk space as "virtual memory" But hard disks are 100X slower than RAM. So even if the program loads, it will be horribly slow, and may crash.
If 4GB is the Minimum, then you probably want more, 6 or 8 maybe, to actually be able to do any serious work in the program.
Look at how much a new RAM module for your laptop will cost. It may not be much to add an extra 4 gb and then you are over the minimum.

Most likely but it will not run well or worst case case it will have a built in test that check that 4Gb of Ram is available and will not even try to start up. Most laptops can easily have their memory upgraded check the makers website on how much it will run and how to instal - it is reasonably easy to do and I expect not that expensive to do.

Yes you can run that software by using some third party software but you can not be benefited as like as the main requirement of your Ram for regulating that software.

Probably not, but still, it's gonna use VM (Virtual Memory) for the extra 2GB Ram, but if you're playing a game and trying to run it like that, you will probably get unplayable framerate.

If a program requires 4GB of RAM, and you only have 2GB, the paging file will kick in and the program will run sluggish.

Yes, but the software might struggle and get sluggish when performing heavy duty tasks
Consider upgrading from 2GB RAM to 4GB RAM. Upgrading will give Windows more space to work on temporary files, therefore your daily computing needs will be easier & much faster. RAM is easily user upgradable in most laptops. Download & install Speccy - https://www.piriform.com/speccy to find out type of RAM in your laptop
Then, buy one 2GB RAM stick and install in your laptop. Laptop RAM sticks are easily available at any computer hardware store near you or online at https://www.amazon.com/Memory-Computer-Add-Ons-Com...

Note: Desktop & laptop RAM are different

Maybe it runs, its totally depend upon the internal condition of the laptop... Just try it once, I am sure.. That it runs slowly as compare to 4GB RAM laptop... If your laptop cannot take it..then just leave..It may harm your laptop.

it depends if it says 4gb's of ram recommend but the program should at least start with 2gb of ram (:

Simple answer, does your 2GB ram laptop have 4GB of ram? then no you cant run it...
