To Trump supporters: Why isn t education your number one priority?
If you truly do want to "make America great again," wouldn t the best way to do so be to raise the next generation to be educated, competent, caring citizens? Have you seen Trump s education plan? His plan is to take away a third of the current education budget and instead spend that money on shipping children in low-income areas off to private schools. This will have a negative impact on millions and millions of children who get Title 1 support, and of course will negatively impact all of the teachers and students who are to remain at the public school, causing many teachers to lose jobs. Trump also said that he wants to cut the department of education completely, which, according to research, would cut about half a million teaching jobs. Like what? How could you support someone who wants to do these things?

Have you noticed that most problems with education began when the Department of Education was created in 1979? Before that, things were pretty good.
...and I DO NOT support Trump. You just have to understand certain ideas.

Look Dude, Everything is broken, our system broken. A complete overhaul., it's broke or if somebody like Trump don't stop it, it cannot be sustained! We spend tons on education, yet have the poorest ratings, grades! Problems? America has tons of them!

Education hasn't improved one iota since the Department of Education was created. It's a big fat government boondoggle that does nothing but give cushy "teaching jobs" to union reps who sit on their fat butts all day. Thanks largely to unions and the Department of Education, our education system eats tons of money without any real academic improvement to show for it. With Hillary Clinton as president, you'll get more of the same. Is that what you want? Don't you care about education?

So, where in the Constitution is the authority granted to the federal government to control or fund education?
There isn't much federal control of education, except what states and local districts give it. You see, the federal government doesn't run the schools.
