I am 23. I want out my parents house so I can "grow up".. need some advice.?

I have talked to my mom about moving out and she told me that she wouldn't be able to insure me and stuff. I feel like I cannot stop spending my money on stupid stuff. And I feel like because my mom and dad still help me out and buy stuff for me and if I feel if I can get rid of that mindset or them helping me that I don't have them to assist me. I'll be able to grow up and stop spending money on stupid stuff. They say to try applying for section 8 and welfare but yeah.. she's trying to guilt me and still get babying me. I'm an adult. I need some advice and or some input. I really do believe moving out would benefit me. Everyone I talk to tells me that.
