As cliche as this topic is, is it normal to fear the walking dead?

The word cliche cant even justify how over used this topic is. I know its brought up a lot since our world in the past decade use it as entertainment and scary stories. And I'm sure a lot of responses would generally be like "your watching to many scary movies" or "you play to many video games". But hear me out.

This is a legitimate question. Is it normal to fear the idea of the walking dead/zombies? Imagine you wake up one day to hear over the news, radio or what have you telling strange attacks are happening and soon find out our world are being over run by recently deceased that rising shortly after attacking the living. I LOVE horror movies, I can watch all kinds its my favorite genre in movies and hardly get scared. But to think of such an idea is fear in its very definition. In a world like that, the absents of hope IS fear. I understand that the idea of dead none heart beating corpses could rise up. But some sort of drug/virus or whatever could cause similar effects. I like to think that our government is more than capable in a successful quarantine if such a pandemic was at soon to arrive and the damage wouldn't be to drastic. I guess for my answer I'm looking for a very intelligent thought out one.

Believe me when I say I understand fully how paranoid and crazy of a question this might be but lets just say curiosity really spikes for me on a topic such as this one. I appreciate all answers and will be sure to rate! Thanks again!

I have to disagree that the government would contain it. It would not only be grave yards with dead rising but it would be in every hospital where many die on a daily basis and the cellar is full of dead. Also funeral parlors, people that die in car wrecks, die at home, etc. Everyone of them would attack someone that would spread it to others who would spread it to more people. The military could not quarantine every single small town and city in the whole country at the same time. It would spread faster then can be imagined. The only thing that would come close would be rabies in a human but it would not spread that fast. Bio warfare MAY create something more like the rage virus from 28 Days Later but the chances of that are slim to none. Most enemys would prefer to just kill us all at once and not waste time. With rabies or rage there would not be corpses walking. It would be living people attacking others until shot dead. So far NOTHING can or could raise the dead. Thank goodness!

No need to fear when you are not motivating a thought of unfairness to put upon someone else. Because, it is at this point of thought that you surrender it, b/c it is a wrong thought, that will cause you and another harm. No one want this to happen. It is a matter of trying to outsmart another, and only you know it, and another doesn't, that makes you the guilty culprit, and knowing it, b/c it really isn't who you are, but a fake persona of yourself. Some people go so far as to change their names and identities..possibly taking the names of others that passed on, or are still around that is rendered 'dead' at the fake persona using it, and not the one that truly is..to making a name up, of someone that actually doesn't exist by this name. How many names..yet, still have the original to use. They are being unfair, they fear, and not the person that is fair, that has no need to fear. It could cause a person to have to defend themselves from a person that is unfair, and why they would fear being caught, b/c they know they are guilty. It's more a matter of people walking around with 'dead' names, and identities, yet they still have an original documented that they could use, and render themselves free and clear of any wrong doing, if a person also paid the price of this. Then, be alive once more to walk the streets as a free person.

Of course it's normal to fear zombies. Any threat to your life is normal to fear, real or otherwise. But normality is overrated.

I should also mention how incredibly unlikely such a scenario would be. Yes, technically it's possible, but you have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than ever coming back as a zombie.

I've never seen a walking dead, except when an actor plays one on T.V. When or if you actually see a real walking dead, then it will become normal for you.
