Can I be the Primary Driver on my car insurance, but my wife drive the vehicle more than me?

My wife has gotten a new job out of town. And we are looking for a vehicle. She will be driving the vehicle more than me but it's cheaper for me to be the Primary due to no claims, tickets, and full licence.

Is it considered fraud? We both would be driving the vehicle on a regular basis, but she would be driving father and longer than me.

This could be fraud, and odds are (if) she has an accident, will be when out of town, so have to explain why she is driving this car vs you. They can void your policy for misrepresentation (lying)

Married, then insurance will list both spouses on insurance, but guessing this will be a 2nd car, so you cant be primary on 2 cars.

    Don't do it.

You "can" if you are able but primary in this case means the driver who drives it most and more often and the most miles. I suspect that they will re-rate the policy now because of the fact that your wife will now be driving out of town for her job. You need to ask your insurance agent this question because insurance companies have different rules for "household" vehicles and married people.

Tip: Never lie to an insurance company and never withhold information from them.....

That's fine. Me and my mother both shared a vehicle at one point and we had State farm together. She was the primary driver/insurance policy holder but due to me being more active I used the vehicle way more. It's not like they are going to ask who uses your vehicle more lol.

Just be honest and say she is the primary driver on your car.

    No issues then.

Make sure she is covered for business use.

You pick who the 'primary' driver is, the insurance company goes with what you claim. If it's your car, it's yours.

Yes, that is fraud. Will they be able to prove it if she gets into an expensive accident at work so that they can refuse to pay the claim? Maybe, but probably not.
