How does 3G work on Windows Phone 10?

So I've had a Microsoft Lumia 550 for about a month now, with Windows 10 running on it.

I get how everything except the 3g works

So E means no internet. Everyone knows that

H means that there's 3G

Im not so sure about H+, and I've seen a 3 pop up twice

Help?

    No internet would mean no icon

    E is internet, as in EDGE, 2G.

    H is HSPA, could fall under 3G.

    H+ is HSPA+, faster than HSPA but not 4G.
